What is the Festival Of Trees?

The Festival is a wonderful event that brings joy and laughter to everyone. The lodge at Brady's Run Park becomes a snow-covered winter wonderland filled with 50 plus uniquely decorated artificial trees. Heard throughout the lodge will be sounds of the season which will be performed by local talents from church groups, schools and individuals for our listening pleasure. If you come alone and want to talk to someone, Frosty the Snow Tree and Santa are always on hand to listen. Santa has made arrangements to have his helpers available with small novelty gifts and a quaint little kitchen for snacking. Children will surely want to stop by to make and take an ornament (or leave it on the children's tree). While strolling through the forest, don't be surprised to meet up with long, lost friends or neighbors. We have had attendance as high as 12,500 people in one year (seven days).

Why is there a Festival Of Trees?

The advisory board of Beaver County Children and Youth Services sponsors this yearly event to raise funds to purchase winter coats, school shoes, send children to summer camp, assist in the cost of eyeglasses, provide household cleaning products, purchase smoke detectors, reward graduating seniors and other things that may be deemed necessary. Household cleaning products and personal hygiene products are not available with the use of food stamps. These things are provided for children and families involved with Children and Youth Services.
Where is the Festival and When?
Each year the Festival of Trees is held the last weekend of November and the first weekend of December. The dates this year are November 23-26, November 29-30 and December 1-3. The Festival then closes for one day and the auction is held Tuesday, December 5th. The Festival and Auction's home is the Lodge at Brady's Run Park. The trees are set up inside the Lodge offering protection from the outside elements. The atmosphere of the Lodge and the beauty of the Park make this location the perfect setting.
What does the Festival do for you?
The festival Committee purchases the tree of your choice and they will decorate your tree if you so choose. In addition, a concerted effort is made to cover every form of advertising available within the Festival budget. Flyers, posters, newspaper and magazine articles, radio and television advertising, advertising through the Beaver County Tourist promotion agency, articles written for the Pennsylvania magazine, and flyers placed at the Welcome Centers along the turnpike are only a few of the ways we advertise. If you have any comments or questions please e-mail us at treefestival@access995.com.
For additional info and future sponsorship:
Call Kay Smith at 775-4510 or 846-2411. Early responses next year are critical in guaranteeing the tree of your choice. We need you as a sponsor, but the children need you to keep going.
