MEMBERSHIP INFO: Regular dues of $35/yr covers membership in the national, state, and local branches of NOW. Reduced dues are available on a sliding scale from $15 to $34. NOW's PURPOSE is to take action to bring women into full participation in the mainstream of American society now, exercising all privileges and responsibilities thereof in truly equal partnership with men. This purpose includes, but is not limited to, equal rights and responsibilities in all aspects of citizenship, public service, employment, education, and family life, and it includes freedom from discrimination because of age, marital status, sexual preference and parenthood.

WHAT ARE SOME OF BV NOW'S RECENT ACTIVITIES? - Sponsored "Famous Women in History" essay contest for all area fifth-graders - Helped form area Women's Diversity Group, to bring women of different races together - Monitored conditions at Beaver County Jail, to assure safety of women inmates and guards from sexual harrassment - Provided area schools with educational videos, to promote awareness of dangers of smoking, and to point out the influence of advertising that may contribute to eating disorders among our youth.
